Philippians 1:2

“Grace be unto you, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ”

It would not be enough to stop at grace and peace being a gift of the Father.  There is a certain level of grace and peace that every person on earth experiences from the Father. Jesus said “he sendeth the rain on the just and the unjust” (Matt 5:45).  The Father has grace and peace for every human being on the planet.

But Jesus Christ brings more.  Through His sacrifice at Calvary, He gave us grace that is beyond what the everyday world experiences.  He became the atoning sacrifice for all of our sins.  When he gave that last cry “It is finished”, he was talking about the end of the sacrificial system for sins.  He was declaring that the price for sin was once and for all paid.  God sent His grace to us, His unmerited favor, through His son.  And all who accept that sacrifice – all who accept Jesus Christ as the atonement for their sin – walk into a greater realm of grace than they have ever experienced.  Sin is gone – they now walk in a new life.  Born again by His power and authority.  Free from the stain of sin.

And with that higher level of grace comes a peace that the world will never know – a peace that many only dream of.  Knowing that our sins are forgiven, and that we walk in newness of life, brings a peace that passes all understanding.  Even in the hardest of times, we can sit under the shadow of the almighty and find rest.  Even in the midst of a storm, he can still the waters and calm the sea.  Even when we don’t know the outcome, he can assure us that all things work together for our good.

Do you have this grace and peace that only salvation through Jesus Christ can bring?  If not, pray the prayer below with all your heart, and you will know it today.

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner.  I know that you died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sin, and that you rose again to give me eternal life.  Please forgive me of my sin.  I make you Lord of my life.  I ask you so shed your grace on me, and fill me with your peace.

Thank you Lord, for saving my soul!
